Background to the Society

The Silver End Heritage Society was set up as a direct result of the findings of the consultation conducted in summer and autumn 2009 and included in the Parish Plan published 2011. The survey showed that residents are proud of the village heritage, and the ideals of the Crittall family, and want to see projects to promote the history of Silver End.

Oral History

During 2013, the focus of the society was a Heritage Lottery funded project, “Silver End Stories” aimed at recording the memories, reminiscences and stories of current and former inhabitants, in particular, those who lived or worked in the village in its early days.

Access to our
Archive collection

The Heritage Centre is in the Village Hall and open to visitors by special arrangement or at public event openings.
